We recently saw four new establishments added to the ranking for Philly’s Top 25 Restaurants. And while there aren’t any newbies on the list this month, Aldine Restaurant, which climbed on just last month, jumps from No. 9 to No. 1 with a Social Score of 178.54, the lowest score the top spot has seen for this city since 2015. While this does not speak negatively to Aldine, it could mean that locals just didn’t show as much love on social for the month of February, the month in which this data is pulled from to show a full-month scope.
Run by George and Jennifer Sabatino, Aldine offers a brief menu of American dishes in the $10-$30 range. Dishes include grilled sweet potato with molasses glaze, fried egg, and crispy quinoa; handmade lumache with local mushrooms, thyme, and olive oil; and stuffed quail with dirty rice, royal trumpets, and pickled grapes. They offer a $35 prix fixe menu on Sunday nights, and also have a brunch menu.
Jumping back onto the list from months past are four restaurants, and the biggest mover this month is last month’s No. 1, Fond.
